Exploring the Language
SQL has an interesting history and unique philosophies.
In the early 1970s, Chamberlin and Boyce, inspired by Ted Codd's relational model, initially created SEQUEL (Structured English Query Language). Due to trademark issues, the acronym was shortened to SQL. SQL is a domain-specific language used for managing data in an RDBMS or for stream processing in an RDSMS.
SQL is considered a 4th-generation language and includes statement types like DQL, DDL, DCL, and DML.
This version of SQL, taught and implemented at Debugshala, is widely used for data manipulation and managing complex database systems.
